I did it the hard way and ordered multiple pcbs, multiple types of cherry switches, multiple caps and played with them so please consider my conclusion:įor this purpose the only difference in cherry switches I see is blues (clicky) vs all other (they are more or less indistinguishable for me while using this keypad). So to conclude: This has a big potential for being good business if sold as kit. Plus the lead time for some of the components was pretty long (I am waiting for rgb leds ordered on aliexpress). I had to chase all the components around the internet (the bill of materials helped a lot) but as stated in the video (at three times the price) it cost me additional few tens of dollars to have everything shipped. So my only suggestion is to actually sell this as a kit. Just a note: The old revision (v0.4) documentation can be found here: Īs others already pointed out, the pcb is really good and works perfectly. Please watch the video for a comprehensive assembly tutorial and detailed explanation of features! Please see the YouTube video for a complete feature explanation, demo, and assembly tutorial.Īll example code, Bill of Materials, schematics, and 3D print files can be found in the supporting documentation and following the links. Fits either the Arduino Pro Micro version with mini-USB (recommended) or micro-USB connector. You can build a custom USB HID (Human Interface Device) to do exactly what you want.Ī bunch of features include: two rotary encoders, a mode button to switch between custom key profiles, a 3.5mm stereo jack (TRS) for external breakout (like a foot pedal) and individually addressable RGB LED back-lighting. With an Arduino Pro Micro you can program your own shortcuts, hot keys, or macros to accomplish anything you can do with a keyboard and mouse, but faster and with less manual inputs. If you're looking to improve your workflow for any computer application (CAD, Photoshop, video editing, gaming, streaming) or just want to automate some tasks a macro keyboard is the answer. The PCB supports SK6812Mini-E RGB LEDs and i2c LCD screens. This PCB can be populated with up to 13 Cherry MX keys OR 11 Cherry keys + 2 rotary encoders. Selling PCB ONLY to build a hot-key, shortcut, stream-deck, or macro keyboard using the off-the-shelf Arduino Pro Micro.
